Long-Time Adman and Former Odney CEO Retires

Monday Jan 06 2020

Bismarck, N.D. - Odney, Inc. (Odney), today announces the retirement of former CEO and principle shareholder Patrick Finken. His retirement took effect January 1, 2020 and follows the sale of his majority ownership of Odney to a group of employees last March. Since that sale, Finken has served as a senior advisor and consultant to the new Odney management team.

Finken first joined Odney in 1990 as partner and Vice President of Account Services. In 1996, Finken became President/CEO and principle shareholder of Odney. During his tenure, Odney saw incredible sales growth and has been recognized with dozens of regional and national awards for its work. Today, Odney is a full-service communications company specializing in advertising, design, media relations, digital media, social media and government relations.

“Grateful is a good word to describe how I feel,” said Finken. “I am grateful for the friends, fun and good work we did together over these last 30 years. Thank you to my staff, clients and supporters who made this journey a great ride.”

In response to Finken’s retirement, current Odney President Don Larson said, “Pat has built an incredible organization. Our challenge now is to live up to his standards and continue to build upon the legacy he left for us.”

In retirement, Finken plans to spend more time with family and friends, play golf and work on a couple of special projects.
