Tobacco is the number one cause of preventable death in North Dakota and in the United States, yet thousands of North Dakotans continue to use commercial tobacco and e-cigarettes/alternative nicotine products, despite the health risks. Of those North Dakotans that use tobacco, one thousand die each year.
The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) launched a statewide initiative, Quit Week, in 2020 focused on raising awareness of the dangers of commercial tobacco and alternative nicotine products, and encouraging North Dakotans to set a date to quit.
Odney was tasked with creating a branded campaign to bring recognition to Quit Week. The “It’s Quitting Time” creative assets were delivered using paid media, organic social and earned media. Assets were also used by NDDoH and their partners.
“It's Quitting Time” has resonated with North Dakotans and increased enrollments to North Dakota’s quitline, NDQuits.
